Mantaro Development Process
Mantaro’s product development process ensures customers are involved with their projects from start to finish. Open and frequent communication is the key to a successful project. From the first meeting, Mantaro is focused on making sure we meet your expectations so that you can achieve your goals. The following process is documented to provide you with a roadmap of a typical project.
- Introduction Meeting and Requirements Discussion
The purpose of the introduction meeting is for you to gain an understanding of Mantaro’s capabilities and for Mantaro to gain an understanding of your product requirements. Mantaro will determine if we have the capabilities to complete your project and gather enough information to allow us to provide an estimate for the project. This information exchange is often done under a non-disclosure agreement
- Statement of Work is Developed
With the information gathered during the introduction meeting and subsequent requirements discussions, Mantaro will put together a Statement of Work (SOW) that outlines the scope of the project, assumptions that have been made, items needed from the customer, project deliverables, project logistics, along with time and cost estimates.
- System Design and Architecture Development
Once a SOW is signed, system design and architecture development begins. This high level design phase allows Mantaro to investigate design strategies including how decisions could potentially effect development time, ability to add future enhancements, and production costs. At the end of this phase, a design review will be held to share our findings.
- Detailed Design
Hardware and software design is completed during this phase. Throughout the project you are kept up to date on project progress through regular project status meetings and reports. The weekly update includes progress over the past week and the tasks scheduled to be completed during the upcoming week. Updates are also provided on progress against the overall schedule and budget.
- Prototype and Solution Modeling
To minimize prototype testing, Mantaro utilizes several modeling and simulation tools to identify potential problems before a prototype board is built. Different types of modeling include investigating overall system performance, timing analysis, logic simulation, analog circuit modeling, heat dissipation, and EMI radiation.
- Prototype Development and Testing
Mantaro will build and test prototypes to ensure products meet their requirements. If standards based certification is required, Mantaro can also manage the certification process and use our own EMI chambers to troubleshoot and resolve problems to minimize compliance testing lab expenses.
- Pilot Release Delivery and Acceptance Testing
With a final design tested and debugged, Mantaro can also manage small pilot runs of products and perform final system acceptance testing. With the completion of the project, pilot units, design files and software will be delivered. Mantaro will also conduct post project interviews with key contacts to ensure your feedback is captured for future projects and to allow us to track quality metrics.
