General

What type of services do you provide?

Please click on the “Services” tab at the top of the page to see the services that Mantaro offers. If there is something you don’t see on the list feel free to contact us as there is a high probability we will still be able to help you or refer you to a good resource.

When will you have staff available to start on my project?

Mantaro has a large team of engineers. Project teams become available frequently throughout the year as projects complete. Typically, Mantaro has staff available to start on most projects as soon as the Statement of Work is signed. At peak load times, it may take several weeks to a month to fully staff a project.

Do you provide staff to work on our site?

Mantaro does have staff available to work on site in Maryland, DC, and Virginia but we provide the highest value when work is done from our Germantown, MD office. In our offices engineers can utilize Mantaro’s office space, computers, lab space and equipment as well as the expertise of their peers.

What do you need from me to generate a quote for a product development?

If you have a requirements document that is all that is needed to generate a quote. However, in the cases where the requirements are not fully defined we will work with you to develop or refine the requirements prior to generating a quote.

Is Mantaro willing to take on small projects or are they only interested in very large projects?

Mantaro is willing to take on all sizes of projects. Our goal is to form a lasting relationship with the customer. We have found that many new customers like to try Mantaro out on a small project at first. Based on the successful conclusion of a small project, larger projects often follow.

Do you have any off-shore resources?

Currently Mantaro has not only local FPGA resources but off-shore as well. Off-shore resources are leveraged primarily to expedite development timeframes allowing near round the clock FPGA development.

I have a product idea but don’t know if there is a good market for it. Does Mantaro provide Marketing Researching services?

Yes, Mantaro does provide a market research service.

Does Mantaro have a secure facility to work on citizen-only type projects?

Mantaro has a designated area for these types of projects and can work with you to arrange specialized physical and network security policies as required for the specific project.

Hardware

What schematic capture tools do you use?

These days Mantaro finds that most customers use Altium, Orcad, Allegro, or Mentor Graphics and is well versed in all of them. However, some customers use other tools and our engineers are willing to use any tool preferred by our customer.

What is the average hardware design cycle for the projects Mantaro takes on?

The average design cycle for most of Mantaro’s projects is 3 to 9 months. Some very large projects, however, have been longer.

I am developing a very-high speed board and am concerned with signal integrity. Can Mantaro help me?

Yes, Mantaro has engineers experienced in performing signal integrity analysis on designs and can work with the PCB designer to ensure your design meets your goals.

Software

What kind of software development projects does Mantaro do?

Mantaro works on embedded software (including drivers, board suppport packages, application software).

What software languages does Mantaro have experience with?

Mantaro has experience with C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java, J2EE, Javascript, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, TCL, Assembly, etc.

What software tools and packages has Mantaro worked with?

Mantaro has worked with a variety of tools and packages some of which are ASP/.NET, wxWidgets, Labview, Qt, Wind River, Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, MPLabs etc.

What operating systems has Mantaro worked with?

Linux, FreeRTOS, Quadros, QNX, vxWorks, pSOS, Nucleus, labWindows, Windows CE, Android, etc.

What kind of drivers has Mantaro developed?

Communication interface driver(Ethernet, Serial, high-speed TDM, USB, CAN, I2C, SPI, etc), LCD display, Integrated peripherals(Blackfin, MSP430, PIC, PowerPC, etc).

What protocol stacks does Mantaro have experience with?

TCP/IP, UDP, VOIP, SIP, RTP, SNMP, etc.

What type of databases does Mantaro have experience with?

Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access, and Teradata to name some.
